H.E.R and H.I.M?? (R&B Discussion)

So I was put on to H.E.R about a month ago and I was diggin the EP. It is definitely a smooth play through from start to finish and it has high replay value. "Focus" is my favorite joint on there, and it was also recently featured in a Rihanna IG video so its definitely gaining some traction. Now, I saw a link to a video with the artist named H.I.M and I said na no way. I had to click on it to see if it was a joke or not. Being that I now hold H.E.R to a very high standard, I didn't want anyone else bringing any discredit to the name. After hearing "My Way" by H.I.M, I will say that I think its dope. Yo this was one of my favorite joints off of the 24K Magic album. Kinda gave me the R.Kelly "Im A Flirt" vibe, mixed wit a lil Jamie Foxx as well. Regardless, this dude made a good song better by covering it with the Soprano Sax. Its just dope for the ears. Check it out. And peep the original video here.

Don Q - Corner Stories

The first time I heard this dude was on Fab's Summertime Shootout 2 "For The Family" record and I was definitely impressed. After doing some further research I found his "Don Season" Mixtape and I was rockin' with that one as well. This new tape has alot of NY features and it shows some unity from the city. Remy Ma - shETHER

Iight this joint broke the internet for a day. I had to check it out and weigh in on it. Remy broke her down in many different ways so you gotta respect that. She started out with an audio clip of Nicki yelling out "Free Remy" and that definitely set the tone. Remy broke her down with facts about her personal life as well as her career, stating how she cant be the Queen if she doesn't write her own bars, she only came at pop or R&B chicks, all the way down to how her pillow talking was the cause of the Meek vs Drake battle. Remy did her homework and dug in deep with slick bars, name flips and solid word play. With all of that being said I dont think Nicki is "Dead", it was a hard track but the replay value is low. I do anticipate Nicki jumpin' in her bag though. This isn't one of those situations that can be ignored. There is a slight chance of her not responding because she doesn't want to give Remy any more publicity than she already has. That still remains to be seen. I'm tuned in though. Turning Your Dreams Into Reality #CreateAndInspire

It's been a while since I've posted on here, but I'm back now and that's for good reason. Since "The Drawing Board" released in 2012 I've had major life events occur that caused me to make a decision to step back from my dreams. I was blessed with a beautiful baby girl and as a father I wanted her to have the best future possible, so I joined the military. I opted to stop spending time and money on my dreams and focus on family, which is a noble move for any loving father. But as a creator of music, it hurt me to know that I'd given up on my passion. Which brings me here today. That same passion that set a fire off inside of me is back. I realized my true calling in life and more importantly I realized that its not too late. As long as there is a passion, desire, unmatched work ethic and good product, no one can stop you from turning your dreams into a reality. If there is anyone out there that still believes in me or my talent, i truly appreciate you. I expect you to hold me accountable as I go through this journey. I understand that it will not be easy, with many blocks in the road but I vow to not stop. Hold me to that!
